The WCARC Swapfest -
Saturday 13 February - San Gabriel Park
The Williamson County Amateur Radio Club will be
holding it's annual
HAMFEST on SAT. Feb. 13, 2010 at the Georgetown Community Center at San
Gabriel Park. The address for the Community Center is at 455 East
Morrow Street, here in Georgetown.
The Community Center will
open it's doors at 7:00 am to allow the sellers to setup HAMFEST tables
and then we will open our doors to buyers/everyone at 8:00 am.
Admission
will be $2.00 and HAMFEST tables are $8.00, please make reservations
for your tables in advance as each year we have sold all of our tables
during this event.
ARRL Exams will be given and we will have directions on-site for anyone
needing to take exams during this HAMFEST.
A map
to the WCARC HAMFEST can be found on the www.wcarc.com
web site and on the www.arrl.org web site and if you need any
information on the day of the HAMFEST, we will have directions and
HAMFEST information on the WCARC repeater. Our repeater is on 146.64
MHz with a PL of 162.2Hz.
The WCARC will be providing door prizes on the 1/2 hour and you will be
able to purchase door prize tickets at the HAMFEST.
Because
the Georgetown Community Center is owned by the City Of Georgetown,
tailgating and/ or selling any items in or on the parking lot will not
be permitted. We will only be allowed to sell/swap items and equipment
inside the Community Center.
I will be updating everyone with
additional information within the next week, and if you have any
questions about the WCARC HAMFEST, please reply back to this email
address and I will get any information back to you.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the WCARC HAMFEST on SAT. Feb.
13, 2010.

WCARC and WC-ARES are Accepting Your
Donations
Did
you know that WCARC and WC-ARES can take your old gear and turn it into
funds? Kees, K5BCQ, has a great track record of taking
donated
equipment and selling it on eBay for top dollar and all proceeds go to
either WCARC or ARES, whichever you prefer. These funds keep
our
membership dues down, and give us ready cash for special events.
If you have anything to donate please contact Kees, K5BCQ.
He can even come by and pick it up.
