Volunteers Needed!   Women's Adventure Race -Sunday, September 12

The annual Women's Adventure Race will be held on Sunday, September 12
at the YMCA in Cedar Park--the same location it's been at the last
four or five years.

I need 8 or so volunteers to man the course with HTs and report on any
injuries. I'll also need a net control.

This is a morning event. The race starts at 9:00 AM, and is over well
before noon. I would want volunteers there *before* 8:00 AM so that
we can get everybody registered and out on the course before the start
of the race.

Talk-in will be on the 146.640 repeater. Race day communications will
be on 147.430, simplex.

For more information about the event, go to http://www.womensrace.com

If you can participate, please let me know. Also give me your T-shirt
size so that we can have those ready for you this time.  Respond via the club reflector,WCARC@yahoogroups.com

Texas QSO Party -September 25 & 26

I'm pleased to announce that Steve, WK5S, along with Don, K6RV, Madison, W5MJ, and Bob, W9BF will be activating the WCARC club call sign, WC5T, in the Texas QSO Party in late September. These guys are all excellent operators, and I'm sure they will do an outstanding job in the contest.

Mark September 25 and 26 on your calendars and plan to give these guys some contacts as well as participating in the TQP yourself. For more information on the TQP, you can go to www.txqp.net

WCARC and WC-ARES are Accepting Your Donations

Did you know that WCARC and WC-ARES can take your old gear and turn it into funds?  Kees, K5BCQ, has a great track record of taking donated equipment and selling it on eBay for top dollar and all proceeds go to either WCARC or ARES, whichever you prefer.  These funds keep our membership dues down, and give us ready cash for special events.

If you have anything to donate please contact Kees, K5BCQ. He can even come by and pick it up.
